Storm Summary and Projection:
Hurricane Summary POSTED: August 27, 2014 6:25 a.m. Marie Still Producing Swells Hurricane Marie continues to gradually weaken early this morning over the open waters of the eastern Pacific. This trend will continue as the storm moves over progressively cooler waters over the next few days. Wind and rain from Marie will remain well offshore; however, the large swells produced by those strong winds over the past several days have radiated outwards from Marie and will affect the coast from Baja California northward to the Southern California beaches over the next few days. These large swells may result in structural damage, significant beach erosion, as well as strong rip currents and minor coastal flooding through Friday. Meanwhile, Karina is now a post tropical storm and is tracking southeast across the open waters of the Pacific, well west of the southern tip of Baja California. No other tropical disturbances are expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the East Pacific Basin over the next 48 hours. By AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Randy Adkins.
